My Battle of the Beadsmith entry for this year is Firewheel, named after the beautiful wildflower.
Firewheel is a convertible necklace that can be worn more than a half dozen ways, including several chokers and several longer necklaces. The 3 tiers and the double St. Petersburg neck straps connect via lobster clasps and thread guards attached to the back sides of the bezeled cabs. Aside from the 5 focals in the front of the necklace, there is a 6th focal in the back that can be used as a clasp or hung separately on a thin chain as a pendant.
The necklace is made with St. Petersburg, Peyote, Right Angle Weave, and Netting. The model is my beautiful daughter, Faith.
